Botanical Name : Dalbergia cultrate

Color: Variegated orange, yellow dark red with irregular black stripes. Similar to Cocobolo.
The Tree: Burma black wood is a small to medium tree. Matures to heights over 45-60 feet. Trunks are 18-24".
The Wood: Hard and heavy. Works and turns well. Finishes very smoothly. Oils in the wood produces a natural polish but may cause problems with lacquer or urethane finishes.
Typical Uses: Turning, handles, inlay, accessories.
